◎　枡席（平土間）
平面は縦10.359ｍ×横9.190ｍの前下がりの勾配床（２段勾配）で、すべて畳敷の枡席となっている。
現在、竪仕切として３本の歩み板と１本の仕切棒により、４.5コマに分割され、それと交叉して８本の横仕切が組み込まれている。
さらに竪仕切が架けられるように横仕切に堀込みが見られるから、１枡の大きさは約950�@×約1.070�@程度になる。
この横仕切の前後に、番号札が１枡当たり２枚づつ張り付けてあるから、１枡４人詰と見られ、このことから４人×81枡＝324名が平土間の定員である。

□Structure
The Yachiyoza Theateris a two‐storied wooden buildinginthe kabuki
theater style ofthe Edo era（1603−1867）・ln spite of being a Japanese‐styIe theater，some portions of the Yachiyoza Theater are quite western：forexample，iron tubes for centain columns，and a western‐styIe girder structure.
Audience seats，covered with　tatami mat,are located at the1st and 2nd floor．The seating capacityis about is700 at present．

Audience seating

There are two classmcations for audience seats，masu‐seki and sajiki‐seki．The masu‐seki located between two hanamichi, is divided into squares with wooden bars and is built Iower than the hanamichi．The sajiki‐seki run between the hanamichi and the walIs on both sides．The right sajiki‐seki，facing to the stage，is calIed“kamite saiki.”These seats are generaIly thought to be the best in the house，and were the ones used for special guests．
